We do not have a chance to say “Thanks”, recently.

The novel corona virus is widespread in the United States. It is also widespread here in Washington state. “Stay Home, Stay Safe” was ordered in Washington state. We need 6 feet “Social Distance”. In fact, lots of people in our town keep Social Distance.

We have much time to be alone in these days, and less time to talk with neighbors and friends. We have less time to say “Thanks” to them.

If you cannot say to neighbors and friends, how about to say “Thanks” to ourselves. It is not to say to your mind and heart, but to some parts of your body. It is no problem any pats on the body. However, it is better to take simple parts like your hand and your foot than your head and your heart.

The following is the method detail.

  • Decide on a part of your body.
  • Relax your body and image the part
  • Say “Thanks, thanks, thanks” in my heart many times.

That’s it. It is simple. There is no limit of times to repeat and time to keep. You can feel something from the part. If you do not feel anything, it is easy to say it with your eyes closed until you get used to it.

If you try it and do not feel, your fingers are easy to feel because the fingers are sensitive. Especially on the skin of the fingers, the reaction is easy to feel. It is different from your feeling depending on each person. You may feel to be warm, cold, pain and itchy. You may feel a vibration of your skin. I am a type of feeling a vibration from my skin.

I think that my fingers are glad to be realize their existence. If fingers are glad, I myself am also glad because the fingers are a part of you. It makes me happy.

If you do not feel it, I want to recommend to keep for a few days. You should feel it little by little. Your fingers react definitely, but your ability of your feeling is less because you have no habit of feeling it. You wake your fingers up feeling for a few day’s practice.

If you can do it easily, I want to recommend that you move to other parts. Each reaction is different depending on parts, but it is not difficult to feel it. The more parts you feel, the more stable mind and happiness feel.

You can try it anytime you are sitting, walking and taking a shower. Ii is not bad during your meditation. Anyway, how about to try it whenever, wherever.
